After a year off from directing while we made Night of the Screamer, I slowly came up with the plan for our most ambitious (and difficult) film to date. We'd need twins, a huge range of costumes, complicated prosthetics, an actor we could de-age, and a lot more fluid for the smoke machine. The majority of The Darkest Corner is shot and ready to go, and the edit already looks fantastic. I don't want to spoil it yet, but hopefully we'll have managed to combine our more comedic tendencies with something heartfelt and meaningful that actually has something to say. I'm very proud of what my team has accomplished so far, and I think this is gonna be a good 'un!

I always like to encourage other people to make films, so when Jonathan Hill (who is usually our other producer) decided it was time for him to return to the director's chair I was immediately on board. The script he came up with was nice and silly, in line with some of our other dafter films like Cups: First Glass, and he also wanted me to play the lead, so there was no way I could refuse. It was a nice change of pace after The Darkest Corner and Jon did a great job directing despite losing his voice on day one... Paid For With Love is currently sat in my editing suite and shaping up to be a fun snippet of comedy nonsense, just the way we like it.
